226 GTA 6 vehicles have been spotted in official trailers, screenshots and the Extended Look: 158 cars and trucks, 13 motorcycles, 30 boats, 16 aircraft and 9 special vehicles.

Rockstar has named 7 of them; the rest are identified by the community.

Official or spotted

7 vehicles are named on Rockstar's own pages, among them the '55 Vapid Stanier, the '95 Grotti Cheetah, Jason's Vapid Ganado and the Shitzu Squalo boat. They carry the Official tag.

Every other vehicle is tagged Spotted: it appears in official footage, and its name comes from community identification, mostly GTABase. Names can change at launch.

Stealing and keeping cars

Old cars open with lock-picking tools; newer and luxury cars need a key cloner you get later in the story, and often carry an alarm and a GPS tracker. See GTA 6 money for car fences.

Street cars can be registered as personal vehicles at Pay 'n' Spray for a fee; high-end cars cannot be registered at first.

We have put some layers of stratification into the vehicles. Previously, you could just press triangle to automatically hotwire and steal any vehicle that you wanted and take off. I think it gives all the vehicles more meaning.

Smash a window or use a slim jim on older cars; the slim jim avoids the alarm. Nelson told TGG that not every car can be hotwired: some need a key cloner just to start, so early on you take high-end cars from moving drivers.

Some trackers report your position to police whenever you drive below a set speed, so you have to keep your foot down. Stolen cars show as a grey radar icon and vanish when you restart the game.

Pay 'n' Spray repairs and repaints, but only the colour: elaborate liveries need a tuning shop. Fuel exists, electric cars charge, and street races can use nitrous.

Jason and Lucia can each own several personal vehicles, starting with three slots; buy garages for more. Scooter Bros, a phone app, brings your personal vehicle to you.
