GTA 6 Release Date

GTA 6 launches on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S only. Rockstar's Extended Look was captured entirely on PS5, and the game runs at 30 frames per second on both consoles at launch.

There is no online mode at launch: Rockstar calls GTA VI a single-player experience. GTA Online keeps running on its own.

Physical copies contain a download code rather than a disc, to curb leaks and reselling.

Digital Foundry's analysis of the Extended Look found a native 1440p image at a stable 30 frames per second on a base PS5, with ray-traced reflections. That is measured from footage, not a confirmed spec.

Rob Nelson told Brazilian creator Davy Jones that console builds currently run at 30 frames per second. Asked about a 60 fps option, he said the technical team would have to weigh in, and did not rule it out.

Creators at the Rockstar North previews say the builds had no full first-person mode, only first-person views for aiming some weapons and for binoculars. Rob Nelson told El Rubius it "hasn't been implemented yet".

Rob Nelson told The New York Times his playthrough took about 80 hours, including the main story and "some optional goals with narrative ramifications".

Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album, 34 original tracks made with Atlantic Records, comes out November 19 alongside the game. Six singles are already out, including Travis Scott, Morgan Wallen, Rauw Alejandro and Keith Richards.

The album comes as a limited-edition liquid-filled vinyl, a splatter vinyl and a CD, with store-exclusive vinyl colours. GTA BOOM lists the prices as $19.98 for the CD, $49.98 for the vinyl and $124.98 for the limited edition.

GTA VI carries seven content descriptors: Blood and Gore, Intense Violence, Mature Humor, Nudity, Strong Language, Strong Sexual Content, and Use of Drugs and Alcohol, plus an In-Game Purchases notice. Store pages show Mature 17+ in the US and an 18 rating elsewhere, with Australia and New Zealand listing sex scenes.

Rockstar also says more is coming on "the dynamic score, the next evolution of in-game radio, and more".

The Goodtime State – Vice City Collection, a collector's box themed on Leonida's TV mascot Macca the Gator, ships November 19 with a figure, Oakley sunglasses and a poster of the full Leonida landscape. The game is sold separately.

On November 18, the night before launch, the Miami HEAT play the Milwaukee Bucks as "Vice City" at Kaseya Center, on a one-night court and in a new uniform, live on ESPN.
